Community Leadership Conferences are designed to bring about the understanding and awareness of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) issues, and to establish a dialogue that recognizes the concerns of regional API communities.
Since their inception in 1983, Community Leadership Conferences have provided an important opportunity for Asian and Pacific Islander ethnic communities to meet and discuss common issues and challenges. For many, the dialogue is an informative cultural lesson about APIs; for others, the Conferences provide leadership development, networking opportunities and coalition building among community advocates.
Past Community Leadership Conferences have brought together leaders from many diverse ethnic communities to build a unified API coalition and agenda.
Conferences, held locally and nationally, in Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Riverside, CA; Orange County, CA; San Diego, CA; Miami, FL; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; and Seattle, WA, bring together public and private sector employees, community leaders, educators and students from diverse ethnic communities.
